My Mother’s House - An Autobiography in Watercolor

December 7th, 2006 at 11:01 am (In The Studio)

My mother’s house is quiet now. The rare opportunity to go home again presented itself, and I took it. Living and working here, caring for Mom and Dad, watching them pass away, fighting for my rights with my dysfunctional siblings, and resurrecting from the ruins. Using pathos to deal with the pain, focusing on the beauty of this funky old home and the early American collection of furniture and collectables, I paint with watercolor.

Coming to the end of Phase 2, looking at Phase 3 to bring in the New Year, I am truly in the studio. It is the Studio of my deepest thoughts, hopes and fears and the playing field is the first and only nest that my parents provided, my refuge, My Mother’s House.

The house is now “on the market”. The rare privilege of a complete and wholesome closure on a tormented childhood and the residual adult relationships is not for sale anywhere. Choosing Good is a choice that anyone can make when the glimmer of good fortune shines for an instant.
